In order to effectively manage your social media, knowing how to measure your content is extremely important. I will walk you through some basic steps to help you with measuring your social media.

First: Set your Goals

First you must decide what your goals are going to be. This will allow you to more effectively measure what is most important to you in relation to your solidified goals.

Second: Create Metrics

Now that you know what your goals are you can use metrics on what you want to measure. For example, if you are measuring your engagement on Instagram, look for metrics around likes, comments, participants in polls, etc.

Third: Measure the Metrics

Now that you know what metrics you are going to use, you need a tool to measure the data. Many social media sites already have analytics pages you can go to and find your data. Take Instagram for example. You can find your engagement metric right there in the app.

Once you have collected your data you will know what you need to adjust in order to change your current metrics. Once you have done this, just keep repeating the process.
